Cyberpunk RPG Single Player Mode Now Available

Fans of R. Talsorian Games’ popular Cyberpunk RED tabletop RPG will be able to experience the world of Night City in a whole new way, thanks to a recently released Single Player Mode.

First announced this past summer at GenCon 2025, the new product is now available for order in both print and PDF exclusively on DriveThruRPG. As the name suggests, Single Player Mode allows players to run their very own solo play experience without the need for a Gamemaster or other players.

So is this latest Cyberpunk experience worth going it alone for? Below, we hack into all the details.

What is Cyberpunk RED Single Player Mode?

Cyberpunk RED’s Single Player Mode is a streamlined way to experience the game without needing a full group or a Gamemaster. Instead of relying on a GM, the system uses pre-written scenarios, random tables and decision-making mechanics to guide the story and determine outcomes of player choices (something which the book refers to as a “Gamemaster Emulator”).

Mechanically, the system uses oracle dice rolls to determine the outcome of certain events or interactions. It also includes guidelines for handling solo investigations, social challenges, combat and netrunning. Additionally, there are solo play clocks with random timers that track looming threats or deadlines. You will, however, need R. Talsorian Game’s latest version of the Cyberpunk RED core rulebook to use Single Player Mode.

Notably, the product was overseen by solo play designer Peter Norton of HollowPonds Solo Sagas in partnership with R. Talsorian Games. The latter has also released a free PDF on their website that contains 22 additional tables for use with the new Single Player Mode product.

How much is Cyberpunk RED Single Player Mode?

The book is available exclusive on DriveThruRPG but does come in a few different print and digital options. The standard PDF retails for $10.00 USD, a softcover premium color version goes for $25 USD, while a softcover standard color is $20 USD.
You can also purchase a package which includes both the PDF and software for $35 USD (for premium color) and $30 USD (for standard color).

As noted above, you will need the standard Cyberpunk RED Core Rules, which retails for $30 USD as a PDF on DriveThruRPG, but is also available at most friendly local game stores.

Final Thoughts

TTRPG solo play has become increasingly popular over the past few years, so it’s not surprising to see R. Talsorian release a product like Cyberpunk Single Player Mode as a way to expand the game with their existing fanbase and reach a new audience. It remains to be seen, however, just how well this new mode is received by the community.

If you’re interested in trying Cyberpunk Single Player Mode for yourself, you can grab a print or digital copy of the book now on DriveThruRPG.
