If The Road Warrior and death metal had a radioactive love child, it would probably look a lot like Torque Borg. The latest variant of the popular MÖRK BORG tabletop RPG system has roared onto Kickstarter, offering a high octane dose of post-apocalyptic survival. In the first week alone after launch, the campaign has already sped past its initial funding goal, with no sign of slowing down. You can back the project now on Kickstarter.
So is Torque Borg worth firing up your engine for? Below, we roll into the Waste to find out.

What Is Torque Borg?
Torque Borg is a standalone TTPG set in a sandblasted wasteland after the events of a devastating nuclear war in which radioactive fallout (known as the BLEED) has warped the land, its inhabitants and even reality itself. Players take on the roles of desperate survivors trying to live long enough to die quickly, whether by gunfire, mutation or the jaws of something unspeakable lurking in the dunes. They also must contend with warring factions locked in endless combat over faith, technology and fuel.
As the name suggests, the book uses the MÖRK BORG core rules (although you don’t need that book to use it), and is also compatible with CY_BORG and Wasteland Degenerates. It also features the iconic art style, design and rules light approach the system is famous for. Notably, Torque Borg is written and illustrated by Matthew DeMino, who is currently the art Director at Brotherwise Gaming (publisher of the Cosmere RPG) and has also been a major contributor a number of Ghostfire Gaming TTRPG projects.

Why Back Torque Borg on Kickstarter?
Here’s why this campaign stands out in a growing wasteland of post-apocalyptic TTRPGs:
- Builds on a classic: The game expands on the incredible style and rules light approach of MÖRK BORG.
- Post-apocalyptic play: Features classes, factions and adventures that capture the vibe of films like Mad Max: Fury Road.
- Vehiclular carnage: The inclusion of car combat and mods gives Torque Borg a unique twist we haven’t seen in many TTRPGs (particularly OSR style games).
- A proven creator: Torque Borg creator Matthew DeMino is a longtime TTRPG vet who has worked on a number of major products, and the art alone looks fantastic.

Final Thoughts
Torque Borg feels like the next evolution of the MÖRK BORG aesthetic in a world where rust, radiation and rage collide in a glorious explosion of punk metal storytelling. With its killer art direction, fast mechanics and self-contained design, it looks primed to join the pantheon of great indie RPGs born at the end of the world.
