Champions RPG Snags New Superpowered Bundle of Holding

Superhero tabletop RPGs have long occupied a special place among gamers, but few systems have the longevity or mechanical depth of the Champions RPG, which recently celebrated 45 years of superheroic action.

Now, new and returning fans will have a chance dive deep into the game’s world of caped crusaders thanks to the Champions 6E Bundle of Holding. Leveraging content from the latest sixth edition of the game, the digital-only collection features almost a dozen books at a fraction of their normal cost.

Below, we slap on our spandex and see if this latest bundle can leap tall buildings in a single bound (or at the very least, save you a few bucks).

What is the Champions RPG?

Champions is one of the longest-running superhero tabletop RPGs of all time, having first been published in 1981 by Hero Games. The core rules were built around what would later become known as the HERO System, using a flexible point buy mechanic (rather than classes and races) that allows you to create virtually any power, ability or character concept imaginable.

Over the decades, Champions has seen multiple editions (with Hero Games continuing to own the license), with the most recent Sixth Edition released in 2010. The game has also influenced numerous other superhero RPGs (including the Marvel Multiverse RPG and Mutants & Masterminds) and spawned the MMORPG Champions Online, which was released in 2009 from Cryptic Studios.

What’s in the Champions 6E Bag of Holding?

The Champions 6E Bag of Holding is split into two tiers: the Character Collection (which has a minimum buy-in) and the expanded Campaign Collection (which is unlocked by paying above the threshold).

This entry tier requires a minimum of $12.95 USD and includes the following:

The retail value for this collection is around $65 USD, so you’re saving about 80%.

If you pay above the $37.99 USD threshold, you’ll get the following:

Altogether, the full bundle represents roughly $198.50 worth of material, so again you’re saving about 80%.

Is the Champions 6E Bag of Holding worth picking up, up and away?

  • An easy entry point for new players: If you’ve heard about the Champions RPG but never taken the plunge, this new bundle is one of the most affordable ways to see what the systems all about without breaking the bank.
  • A strong value for veteran Champions fans: Longtime players and GMs can use this bundle to fill gaps in their collection, especially with some of the harder-to-find titles (including a Kickstarter exclusive).
  • A deep dive into the HERO System’s legacy: Nearly five decades after it launched, the HERO System’s core design remains surprisingly robust, offering a ton of flexibility over character creation.
  • A staggering amount of content: Between the core rules, setting material, villain books and power catalogs, the bundle delivers an enormous amount of lore, NPCs and player options.

Final Thoughts

The Champions 6E Bag of Holding is less about discovering something new and more about showcasing one of TTRPGs most robust (and often overlooked) superhero games. If nothing else, it proves that after 45 years of costumed, capes and critical hits, Champions still has plenty of staying power.

You can grab the Champion 6E bundle now until January 26th, 2026 on Bundle of Holding.
