Tabletop RPG publisher Goodman Games has recently unveiled a new project that pays homage to two of the 1980s most popular forms of entertainment: Dungeons & Dragons and pinball machines.
Entitled, Pinball Crawl Classics, the upcoming product adapts some of the most iconic pinball machines of all time into standalone adventures for both Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC) and Mutant Crawl Classics (MCC). The project is currently part of a larger crowdfunding campaign that runs from now until February 11th, 2026 on BackerKit. Below, we pull the plunger and shoot into all the details.

What is “Pinball Crawl Classics” about?
Pinball Crawl Classics is a boxed set of five officially licensed adventures for DCC, MCC and XCC, each of which is inspired by a real-world pinball cabinet produced by Bally and Williams (two of the largest and most popular pinball manufacturers of the 1970s and 80s). Each adventure is built around the imagery and themes of the games and features restored artwork from the original cabinets.
- The Beating Heart of Gorgar: Based on the 1979 pinball game Gorgar, this is a level 2 adventure for DCC, with players tasked with rescuing a priestess of a moon good from a demon-infested land.
- Swords of Fury: Based on the 1988 pinball game off the same name, this is a 5th level DCC adventure, with players trying to recover two powerful swords from the grips of a fiery demon, while battling magically-mutated ogres and other twisted creatures.
- Rage of the Red Ladies: Based on the 1981 pinball game Embryon, this is a 1st level MCC adventure that finds the characters awoken in ancient high-tech laboratory, taking on murderous androids, rabid raccoon-men and sociopathic humans.
- Awaken: Based on the 1981 pinball game Centaur, this is a 1st level adventure for MCC, with players battling a cyborg warlord known as the Centaur who has seized four ancient orbs of power.
- Cosmic Gunfight Over Asteroid Gulch: Based on the 1982 Cosmic Gunfight pinball game, this a 3rd level science fantasy adventure designed for DCC (but compatible with MCC and XCC), with players battling brain parasites and aliens in a remote asteroid belt.

Why is the Pinball Crawl Classics BackerKit worth supporting?
- A truly unique premise: Adapting real pinball machines into tabletop adventures is an incredibly strange and original idea, even by DCC standards, and the project feels like something that we haven’t seen before.
- Designed for multiple systems: Many of the adventures can be run across DCC, MCC and XCC, or even dropped into other rulesets, offering a lot of bang for your buck (or quarter, as the case may be).
- Restored retro artwork: The inclusion of original old school pinball art is amazing and feels like a natural fit with the overall old school vibe of Dungeon Crawl Classics.
- High quality adventures: Goodman Games has a track record of creating some absolutely outstanding modules, and it’s likely we’ll see that trend continue with Pinball Crawl Classics.

Final thoughts
Pinball Crawl Classics is a great example of the kind of risk-taking and experimentation that’s been a hallmark off Goodman Games for years. And while it’s retro homage to pinball and polyhedrons might not be for everyone, in a world of generic D&D fantasy clones, there’s no doubt that it’s genuinely different.
The Pinball Crawl Classics campaign is live now and runs through February 11th, 2026 on BackerKit.
