The finalists for one the tabletop role playing game industry’s biggest awards have been unveiled, with the complete list of nominees for the 2026 ENNIE Awards. The winners will be officially announced at this year’s Gen Con in Indianapolis, with contenders vying for the prize across 24 different categories that celebrate the best in TTRPG art, design, accessories and writing.
Below, we take a closer look at who made this cut for this year’s ENNIEs.
What are the ENNIE Awards?
The ENNIE Awards (also known simply as the “ENNIES”) are an annual prize designed to showcase the best in tabletop RPG products, including adventures, accessories, cartography, community content and rules.
Entires are reviewed by five judges who are elected each year in an online vote open to the general public (to ensure fairness, judges must not have any ongoing professional relationship with any TTRPG publisher). Voting for that year’s ENNIES then consists of two rounds: In the first round, publishers submit their products for nomination and a shortlist is selected by the judges. In the second round, the shortlisted products are voted on by the general public.
Notably, the awards were first created in 2001 by Russ Morrissey (aka Morrus) in conjunction with the TTRPG news website Eric Noah’s Unofficial D&D Third Edition News (now known simply as EN World). From 2002 onwards, they were spelled as the “ENnie Awards,” with the annual ceremony held in person at Gen Con. In 2019, however, Morrissey (who also founded the RPG company EN Publishing) officially relinquished control of the awards and it is now a completely unaffiliated, volunteer-run organization.

Final thoughts
While there are other annual TTRPG prizes (including the Origins and Diana Jones Awards), none cover as many categories as the ENNIES, making them one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry.
