Starfinder Society Releases New Scenarios for Invasion’s Edge Metaplot

As the end of the year approaches, Paizo is closing things out with a four new Starfinder Society scenarios, delivering fresh content that expands the ongoing Invasion’s Edge metaplot, while also introducing low-level adventures that can be run outside of Paizo organized play events.

Spanning icy moons, hostile deserts and dangerous alien strongholds, the new scenarios offer Starfinder Society fans plenty to dig into heading into the new year. Below, we take a closer look at what’s included.

What is Paizo’s Starfinder Society?

Starfinder Society is Paizo’s organized play program for the Starfinder RPG. Players take on the role of agents of the powerful Starfinder Society (an in-game organization of explorers and heroes from across the Pact Worlds) completing official Paizo adventures (known as “scenarios”) that can be played at conventions, participating local game stores or home tables. Each scenario is designed to stand alone while also contributing to larger story arcs (known as “metaplots”) that unfold over the course of a 12-month period (known as a “season”).

A typical season runs anywhere from 15 to 25 scenarios, with the metaplot wrapped up with a scenario for higher level characters (usually from levels 9 to 12). Notably, players do not have to play in all scenarios to participate and can drop in and out at anytime. Scenarios are also listed in sequence by season and number. For example “1-10” would represents Season 1, scenario 10 to make it easier for participants and organizers to track. Each season, Paizo also typically releases a free Player’s Guide which includes new rules and character options (including new backgrounds and ancestries).

What is the Invasion’s Edge metaplot?

Invasion’s Edge is the latest metaplot for Season 1 of the new Starfinder Second Edition (which was released in July 2025). The metaplot focuses on the sudden arrival of a colossal alien starship (known as the Wreck of the Returned) that crash lands on the planet Akiton. Players are tasked to investigate and what began as a salvage opportunity quickly escalates into a planetary crisis when the ship’s automated defenses activated, unleashing hostile creatures and destabilizing magical phenomena, all of which may represent the opening move in a full-scale invasion of the Pact Worlds.

As the metaplot progresses and new scenarios are published, players will travel across the Pact Worlds uncovering the source of the Wreck of the Return and preventing a major intergalactic war. Notably, the first scenario and an associated free Player’s Guide were released in late 2025.
