When it comes to survival in the Starfinder universe, sometimes having the right hardware can mean the difference between intergalactic glory and ending up as another casualty lost in the Drift.

Fortunately, Paizo may have the solution with Starfinder Galactic Arsenals, an upcoming rules expansion designed to give players and Game Masters an armory’s worth of new tactical equipment, character options and military-focused lore. The book will be available in August 2027, but you can pre-order it now from your local game store, Paizo and Amazon.

What’s included in Starfinder Galactic Arsenals?

Starfinder Galactic Arsenals is a 192-page sourcebook for Starfinder 2nd Edition that includes:

• Weapons & Equipment: A range of advanced weapons, armor and tactical gear.
• Spells & Magic Items: This includes a series of new magitech items and combat-focused spells.
• Character options: Several new class options and backgrounds (although these have not yet been confirmed by Paizo).
• Tactical Starship Content: Expanded rules and upgrades for starship combat.
• Enemies & Hazards: Multiple new alien adversaries and environmental challenges.
• Lore Updates: With details on eight major military powers (including the Hellknights and AbadarCorp) and six corporations (including the Frozen Trove and Ulrikka Clanholdings).

Notably, the book expands upon some of the concepts featured in the recently released Starfinder Tech Core (which also featured a range of equipment) and is also thematically similar to the Starfinder Armory supplement published for first edition back in 2018.

How much is Starfinder Galactic Arsenals?

The standard hardcover retails for $59.99 USD (not including shipping) while the PDF retails for $29.99 USD, via DriveThruRPG. A Special Edition hardcover will also be released for $89.99 USD. A retail Sketch variant (with a slightly different cover) is also available for $69.99 USD. A a pocket edition will also be released in the next future, which will likely go for $34.99.

Notably, Paizo has recently raised prices on their books due to increase printing costs, the US government’s tariffs and financial pressures due to the Diamond Distributors’ bankruptcy.

When will Starfinder Galactic Arsenals be released?

The book will be released in print and PDF on August 5, 2027, at which point it should be available at most major online and physical retailers. The pocket edition will likely be released five to six months later (so likely December 2027 or early 2028).

Notably, if you are a member of the Starfinder Subscriptions program you will receive a copy of the book several weeks early.

Final thoughts

Weapons and combat have always been an integral part of Starfinder, so it’s great to see them get some time in the spotlight for the new Second Edition era. It remains to be seen, however, just what kinds of new firepower the book will be delivering.
