Why we’re excited about “Live from the Succubus Club”

  • A fresh thematic focus: The idea of creating your own rockstar vampire (or better yet, a whole band of rockstar vampires) is absolutely brilliant and something we haven’t seen in recent V5 materials.
  • Built-in chronicle structure: The Sound and Fury tour framework gives Storytellers a ready-made campaign spine that can easily be relocated to other cities.
  • New mechanical toys: The inclusion of new Merits, Flaws and Discipline Powers offers even more bang for your buck.
  • Domain politics on the road: Touring through Berlin, Vienna and Paris means navigating multiple domains, princes, and rival factions offering plenty of narrative meat for Storytellers.

What is the Succubus Club in Vampire: The Masquerade lore?

The Succubus Club is one of the most iconic Elysiums in the World of Darkness. Located in Los Angeles, it serves as neutral ground where Kindred of all affiliations can meet, drink and dance. Overseen by the Toreador Baron Jeremy MacNeil, the club is equal parts nightclub, political arena and undead powder keg.

Notably, the Succubus Club first appeared in early 1990s supplements for Vampire: The Masquerade, including The Anarch Cookbook (1994), Los Angeles by Night (1994), and The Succubus Club: Dead Man’s Party (2003), the latter of which expanded the location into a fully detailed sourcebook complete with NPCs, plot hooks and faction politics.

Final thoughts

It’s great to see the Succubus Club back in action in V5, with new rules, lore and character options. If you’re looking to create your own musical monster, this is most likely going to be your blood-soaked jam.

We’ll be offering a deeper dive and complete review closer to launch. In the meantime, you can pre-order Vampire: The Masquerade Live from the Succubus Club now from your local game store, DriveThruRPG and Renegade Game Studios.
